CORE Presents, Lionfish and the USVI Territory

The CORE Foundation, (Caribbean Oceanic Restoration and Education Foundation) will be starting their Lionfish Public Awareness Campaign February 2011. These presentations are being held to engage and educate the public on the impact the Invasive Indo-Pacific Lionfish is having on our beautiful ocean waters, as well as the potential negative economic effect.

The first of three public presentations will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 on St. John, at the Mongoose Junction Courtyard from 6pm to 8pm. The Sun Dog Café will be providing the space and free appetizers. Please join us, and The National Park Service St. John who has been working side by side with The CORE Foundation to help eradicate the invasive Lionfish.

The second presentation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 on St. Thomas, at the Windward Passage Hotel from 7pm to 9pm. Appetizers will be provided by Duane and Laura Hausch, of Admiralty Dive Center.

The third presentation will be held on St. Croix, date and venue will be announced in the near future.
